Dead Horse Point State Park

1. Have you ever visited a place where you didn’t quite know what to expect and then it just blew you away? For us, that was Dead Horse Point State Park.

2. Dead Horse Point State Park is located near the Canyonlands National Park in Utah. IT is a 45 minute drive from Moab, where we stayed in February of last year.

3. Nearby Arches and Canyonlands National Parks get all of the attention and all of the visitors. But this park offers lots to see and it is small and easy to explore.

4. It has all of the ingredients of a perfect outdoor destination: easy but fun hiking trails, and low crowds,

5. And a jaw-dropping view that rivals the nearby national parks.

6. Best time to visit in Spring and Fall because it gets too hot in the Summer. We visited in February when the temperature was around 40 degrees.

7. We enjoyed hiking from the Visitor Center through the East Rim Trail

8. Lots to see and photograph in this 2 mile hike
